Vaulting:

The Arrow Vaulting Group was started by the two Sue’s back in the 1980’s as a fun Pony Club activity. Sue Nevill-Parker then studied the sport in Germany, France, Austria and the USA and now trains the highly successful Arrow Vaulting Group. The Group is run by a voluntary committee and all funds raised go towards further training, horse expenses and competitions. It is affiliated to the National Governing Body, British Equestrian Vaulting which is part of the British Equestrian Federation. The Arrow Vaulters have represented their country in numerous World and European Championships. Senior member, Jon Blake is the current British Male Individual Champion and the team are the current Intermediate champions.

Sue Nevill-Parker is one of the very few trainers to use vaulting to improve riders of all ages and most of her adult pupils have been persuaded to have a lunge lesson using the special vaulting surcingle. The additional freedom felt when sitting on the vaulting pad without stirrups or reins helps improve suppleness, balance and confidence and significant improvements can be made in a relatively short time. It also has the advantage over conventional teaching methods in that complete beginners can experience trot and canter in total safety in their first lesson.
