Pubs and Restaurants

Please note that although there are many good places to eat locally, most of them get very busy on weekends so early booking is advisable. Some do not do meals on Sunday and/or Monday evenings so please check.

The King's House, Pembridge Tel: 01544 388 029

Our favourite "local" restaurant offering an extensive menu including a good vegetarian selection. Booking at week ends recommended.

The Royal George, Lyonshall Tel: 01544 340 084

This is back on our list and does good food at a reasonable price covering a wide range of tastes including vegetarian and curries.

The New Inn, Pembridge Tel: 01544 388 427

Historic old fashioned inn serving good home cooked food at a very reasonable price. Very much a "local" pub so can be crowded.

The Bateman Arms, Shobdon Tel: 01568 708 374

This keeps changing hands so is a bit hit and miss. Usually a reasonable price with quite a wide selection. Restaurant area separate from pub so always table space.

The Stagg Inn, Titley Tel: 01544 230 221

More a restaurant than a pub but highly recommended. Almost impossible to get a table at weekends since winning a Michelin star . Book a month in advance and enjoy a leisurely evening. Accommodation also offered. (£32+)

Other Information

If you are looking for a hotel, The Burton Hotel in Kington now has excellent leisure facilities - gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and pool. Take-Aways (not delivered) are available from Kington and Leominster and both towns have supermarkets etc... Sandwiches etc are available in Pembridge, Weobley and Shobdon and in the summer, you can take a short walk across the fields to The Water Gardens for a leisurely lunch and they are used to people in riding kit. Both Pembridge and Weobley are on the "Black and White Trail" and are well worth visiting for a gentle stroll and browse. The local tack shop - The Horse Boutique, North Road, Kingsland - is also worth a visit and is only 15 minutes from Weston. Please mention Arrow Equestrian and ask Michael to give you a discount. If meat is your thing, visit Marston Meats which is just across the road from us, or Townsends Farm - everything is local and tastes completely different from anything you can buy in supermarkets!
